A must-see event, the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe will make its grand return in 2026 for its 13th edition. Since its creation in 1978, this solo transatlantic race has connected Saint-Malo and Pointe-à-Pitre every four years, bringing together professional sailors and sailing enthusiasts for a course of more than 3,500 nautical miles.
The race will start on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from Saint-Malo. Before the start, the race village will welcome visitors from October 20 to November 1, with the participating boats, stands, and a wide range of activities. For this edition, 118 skippers are expected on the starting line.
The Guadeloupe Islands at the heart of the event
The destination will come alive to the rhythm of the Route du Rhum, with three villages located at the Mémorial ACTe, Marina de Bas-du-Fort, and Basse-Terre. These different spaces will allow visitors to follow the arrivals while enjoying activities and opportunities to discover more about the event.
Much more than a sporting competition, the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe is a major tourism and public event for the Archipelago, offering international visibility for the destination and a unique opportunity to showcase its islands, culture, and heritage.
