During our recent educational voyage in the Caribbean aboard the four-masted Star Flyer, we had the privilege of calling at the magnificent Guadeloupe Islands, particularly Terre-de-Haut and Les Saintes—destinations that truly captivated all the travel advisors on board.

Thanks to the warm welcome, professionalism, and outstanding support of the Guadeloupe Islands Tourist Board, our group had the opportunity to discover the richness and authenticity of this exceptional destination. These ports of call perfectly reflect the philosophy of Star Clippers: reaching unspoiled locations away from the major cruise ports and offering more immersive and authentic experiences aboard three exceptional sailing ships.

Our participants were enchanted by the breathtaking scenery, turquoise waters, and idyllic beaches for which the archipelago is renowned. A visit to Fort Napoléon, with its spectacular panoramic views over the Bay of Les Saintes, provided valuable insight into the history and heritage of this unique island.

The visit to the botanical garden also showcased the remarkable diversity of the Guadeloupe Islands’ tropical flora and fauna.

The day also provided an opportunity to discover local expertise, particularly through a visit to the Reimonenq Distillery, where our guests learned about the traditions behind the production of Guadeloupean rum, one of the destination’s most iconic symbols.

Local gastronomy was another highlight of the visit. The vibrant Creole flavors, the genuine hospitality of the local people, and the Guadeloupean way of life left a lasting impression on the entire group. Visits to several charming hotels and boutique properties also highlighted the destination’s upscale tourism offering, perfectly suited to travelers seeking exclusive, intimate experiences aboard Star Clippers.

These exceptional ports of call demonstrated just how diverse, authentic, and rewarding the Guadeloupe Islands are as a destination—one that is ideally explored by sea.
