Expert of the month «Guadeloupe Islands»:

Discovering Guadeloupe was an incredible experience for me.

Thanks to the CTIG certification, I gained extensive knowledge beforehand about this French overseas island department and its surrounding islands. However, experiencing the destination firsthand was the wonderful culmination of this training.

During this trip, we had the pleasure of exploring Grande-Terre, Basse-Terre, and Les Saintes.

Grande-Terre is a rich blend of contrasts, with its paradisiacal beaches in the south and its dramatic cliffs in the north. We began with a visit to the impressive Morne-à-l’Eau cemetery, one of the largest in the Caribbean.

In the north of Grande-Terre, after a short walk, we discovered Pointe de la Grande Vigie, an incredible sight with its striking, steep cliffs.

Basse-Terre, the left wing of Guadeloupe’s beautiful butterfly, is wilder than Grande-Terre. It is home to the famous La Soufrière volcano and numerous waterfalls.

Basse-Terre is the ideal place for hiking, canyoning, and outdoor adventures.

Scuba diving and snorkeling enthusiasts will be delighted by the Cousteau Reserve, located just offshore from Bouillante, an exceptional spot.

Les Saintes archipelago, particularly Terre-de-Haut, was my destination favorite. As soon as you step off the ferry, you are struck by the feeling of a village frozen in time, enhanced by its many colorful houses.

From Fort Napoléon, you can admire a breathtaking view over the Bay of Terre-de-Haut, undeniably one of the most beautiful bays in the world.

Les Saintes offer a wide range of activities, snorkeling, paddleboarding as well as numerous idyllic beaches.

To conclude, I would like to thank the Guadeloupe Islands Tourism Board (CTIG) for this wonderful opportunity, and I highly recommend this training program to all travel agents. It provides you with all the tools needed to confidently sell this must-see French destination to your clients.

This journey left me with only one frustration: having to wait before returning to discover the countless treasures of this unique archipelago!
