Expert of the month «Guadeloupe Islands»:

This journey to the Butterfly Island was a very powerful experience as an expert of the Guadeloupe Islands. The week’s program was extremely rich in discoveries.

My five senses were awakened: tasting and savoring all those delicious Creole dishes, from pork or goat colombo.

Taking the boat to Marie-Galante and arriving on an island where time seems to have stopped in 1824, visiting the Habitation Murat, the largest sugarcane plantation of its time and feeling chills while listening to its history.

Visiting the paradisiacal Les Saintes islands and, as Francky Vincent would say, “don’t forget to ask for your tourment d’amour.”

The warm welcome of the people of the French West Indies, their kindness, the landscapes of Basse-Terre with its waterfalls and tropical forests, the distilleries, and activities such as scuba diving and kayaking in the Cul-de-Sac Marin in Grande-Terre, the Saint-Anne night market, and all the beautiful beaches of the island.

Dancing and enjoying a great zouk rhythm, climbing “the old lady,” La Soufrière volcano, through rivers, forests, and mountains in Basse-Terre.

After the beach, enjoying an amazing coconut sorbet and breathing in the smell of boucané chicken cooking over charcoal in banana leaves. Staying in authentic hotels and even playing golf, as I had the chance to do.

In short, this destination was a true love at first sight, an explosion of wonderful flavors and beautiful experiences.
